Guest guest
I cannot believe it, either! In fact, I am flabbergasted. Sue On Thursday, July 13, 2006, at 06:55 PM, eandsspivey wrote: > I cannot believe it! >
Guest guest
I am not surprised unfortunately. I am having a time too finding someone who isn't extremely busy and really loves money. Sounds like your doc just really loves money. Wish I loved money like that then maybe I would be rich. They have more patients than they know what to do with. I am even considering traveling to a Mayo clinic or s Hopkins or anywhere I can get some quality care. The doctors that admitted me have yet to follow up with my lab results, schedule the CT scan of the heart, let me know what the heart monitor revealed or any of it. They just released me and forgot about it. When I call the office, the nurse just keeps saying they (he and his assistant) are seeing patients at the hospital. I never get a call from him or his assistant. I am concerned because I have been getting heart flutters. So, wish I had better suggestions than that but we might have to travel long distance to quality care which believe me I know is easier said than done. Hope all goes well with your search. Guest guest
Dear Ebony, you need a responsive doctor! I don't know what I would do without mine, both my rheumy and my PCP are my emotional support as well a taking care of my medical needs. When I was first dxed, my rheumy wanted me to go to the Mayo Clinic for a second opinion, as he felt they had the best dr for PMR anywhere, and I was going to Minnesota to visit my son. But the dr he wanted me to see had retired, and they were only accepting emergency patients in rheumatology then. They also have a clinic I know of in Phoenix, and the Cleveland Clinic has an excellent reputation in the Ohio area (I do not remember where you live). I love my rheumy and all the drs he's sent me too, except the knee specialist. It took 4 weeks to get an appt for my MRI results, and I had to argue with the scheduler, they canceled my appt because the dr " wasn't going to be in that day " and wanted to reschedule another 3 months out! I finally got in to see him only 9 weeks after the MRI . . . and a lot of phone calls from my PCP. My rheumy is at USC (University of Southern California) in Los Angeles. Hope you find a way to get the help you need, and soon! Guest guest
Patirica, You are right, and that is the way it has been for years. I think it is the luck of the draw as they say. You seemed to have lucked out, especially your PCP staying on top of things for you.. A lot of people have good doctors and some are just way too busy. I had one doc who was also way too busy. I no longer live there but would travel 300 miles to see him because even though he was busy, he was extremely thorough and took very good care of me, as much as he could -- RA is a slippery little thing, hard to get a handle on it. LOL! He took time to call me to give lab results, his suggestions, etc. And beautiful bedside manners, great listener. He kept insisting I find someone here close to me,so that is what I did. The service is drastically different, however and I told him so but he insists I be treated her in town. Thanks for your concern, however. I am working on it. peace and healing, Ebony > > Dear Ebony, you need a responsive doctor! Guest guest
-Ebony, The Mayo in Phoenix has a very good reputation. I wish that I was living on my own and not with friends..because I would offer you a place to stay with me. Maybe someone else here is from the Phx area??? jenna -- In , " Overell " <patricia.overell@...> wrote: > > Dear Ebony, you need a responsive doctor!
