Guest guest
I've noticed the same problems that you have. I'm not waiting for a transplant or anything, but I have some of the symptoms that you have. I gained 40 lbs over the last year and a half. A lot of the really noticeable weight is in my abdomen. To me it looks like I'm pregnant when I don't suck it in at all. I HATE IT!! I try to watch what I eat and go to the gym as much as I can. I doesn't seem to help me either. I always feel full too. Even if I don't eat much. I feel like my stomach is HUGE right after I eat, even if I hardly eat anything. Sometimes my stomach hurts because that's how full I feel. So, I know exactly what you're going through. I just wish that I only gained 12 pounds. What medication are you on? Prednisone? How long have you been on it?? Guest guest
Dear Tim, AIH is not contagious through sex or other physical contact. There are some studies that point to a possible genetic link but who know how, when or who. My family doesn't have a history that I know of for this but perhaps there was a pre-disposition towards and I got the big prize? And, sorry to say, no alcohol at all. It sounds like people who try to get very sick fast and are miserable. No transplant clinic will consider you if you've had a drink within about 6 months. Alcohol does not cause AIH but it is really bad on a compromised liver. Welcome! We have lots of great folks who can help with questions. If your symptoms are really obvious but your doc won't treat you, you might want to try a new one? Good luck...
