Re: Working with RA and other stuff

Hi...

Just responding to others who responded to my post!!! As for me being a

basketball player...No...not a hoopster here. Along with being 6'6 " tall...I

haven't weighed under 300lbs since I was maybe 17?? Don't remember..not exactly.

I played 3 years of college football..offensive tackle..and have had my left

knee operated on 9 times. I also paticipated in Judo in college..although not a

recognized sport at the time.

As for the family problems...well I spent some time in El Paso Texas, by

myself, and it helped the two of us solve our differences. We are doing fine

now...and my Bichon's are happy that daddy is back home.

As for the person in New Orleans who has RA and is depressed. Myself and many

others in this group totally understand what you are going through. I am in pain

24-7-365, and yes it gets depressing to hurt all the time. I am a big strong man

who is supposed to be able to handle the pain...and most days I can. But

somedays...the pain overwhelms the best of us....and no..my wife does not

understand. But...when I tell her I can't do anything more that day and I need

to rest...she lets me rest...and sometimes comes to bed and snuggles up with me

and comforts me...and I always have my 2 Bichons Frises to come sit next to me.

My two dogs are sometimes the best medicine for me...they are always happy to

see me and seem to know when I am in pain and come to comfort me with Bichon

hugs and kisses. Also...as a Katrina evacuee still living in Houston....I know

all the turmoil from the past year has not been easy also...it adds to the

stress, and stress is not good when you have RA.

My wife and I lost everything we had in Katrina...we use to live in Metairie,

and our townhouse was totalled not only by flooding, but also had major wind

damage. Find someone to talk to...even if its just an email buddy...talk to

someone.

Okay...I done for now...gotta go start cooking my chickens..going to make

Chicken and Sausage Jambalya and a big casserole dish for the weekend. Got

NASCAR racing and Golf on TV for the weekend...o!!!!! I got the DVR all set

for this weekend!!!!
