Guest guest
Dear Pris, The VA system doesn't do much and the doctors are mainly foreign, and mostly inept, and few can even speak English in any way that is understandable. They don't treat us with any respect, especially us women veterans. I have to drive over an hour to the doctor and am not allowed to go to the VA clinic right up the road because my main doctor is in Illinois. So if I get sick I cant go to the doctor. It can take 6 months to get an appointment. If I transferred my care to the West Lafayette clinic I could go to the one up the road, but then I take a huge chance of the new doctor deciding I don't need the pain meds and other meds I use, then I am in a pickle. The VA docs tend to treat those in pain as if they are only looking for drugs. So when I get so sick I need to get in right away I am like any other person with no insurance. I pay myself. My disability meds they are required by law to give me, but they will argue with me about it. I still can't get my ansaid from them and to get a new RX my civi dr. wants a 75$ office fee to give me refills. So I go without it. While I am very thankful to get many of my meds from the VA without charge, and my blood work and x-rays get done I still can not get any care. phine Askren
