Hi Janet,

I'm in the Chicago area. I grew up in the city and moved out to the 'burbs when

I was 36 & single mom with many flares, a boy teen and a girl pre-teen. (What a

mess that was!!!) Now my kids are 26 & 22 and turned out to be wonderful,

responsible and on their own (they even get along, quite well, which I never

would have imagined by the way they fought growing up). I have been divorced

since 1983 and finally met my man on match.com. After a year of dating, I sold

my house (I really couldn't keep up with it anymore) and moved in with Dave.

After 2 years of living together (combining his 2 dogs with my 2 dogs, his cat

with my 2 cats and my parakeet & parrot) things are going well. I still flare,

but not as often. I'm on SSDI now and the stress level has gone way down being

able to do things when I feel good and NOT when I don't.

That's my story in a nutshell. I'll be lurking around...

I will keep looking. I have had a 100 % failure rate so far tho. I have worked with the patient advocates at the hospitals, I owe thousands of dollars to 3 of them here in town, and they want my bank numbers and all and they try to press me into saying I will pay certain amounts of money to them, and I just wont do that, especially since 2 of them almost killed me, due to errors, and refusal of the doctor to look at the records I took to them. I just am in a funk....but I will pursue it again sometime. I have a friend that likes her doctor, ( gen practice ) I may go see her....then work from there.

How are you tonight ? ?

Love you ~

Hi Joanne, thank you ! ! I will keep looking. I know I need a good team right now. How did you find out about going to germany for your surgery ? ? What a way to go, being treated so kindly, and all.

Wow, I am amazed !

Ya, I wouldnt work back in that field for anything.

Not the way it is. They are a huge embarrasment

to society. I will have to rent Sicko sometime. I have wanted to see it since it came out. I have written a few times.

I am just in a funk right now, trying to decide what to do. It has been 6 months now since they found the lung nodules and it is time to check them again, and I havent decided what avenue to take. The oncologist said to re scan in 6 months, so I dont know...its time tho.......

I appreciate the kind words !

Hi Dede,

Thanks for venting. I really wish that you would rent that movie,

Sicko. It would really hit home. I was put out to pasture with massive

adhesions (following my hysterectomy) on Methadone, Ativan, Prozac,

Trazadone and Neurontin. They simply told me that there wasn't

anything that they could do for me. I was so lucky to find a doctor in

Germany that was having success with an adhesion barrier. My surgery

cost 1,400 dollars and my hospital stay was 350 dollars a day

including all labs. I stayed for 5 days for a laparoscopy. What a

treat. Then, they were kind enough to put me in an apartment in the

building next door for 40 dollars a night while I awaited my second

look surgery. It was so wonderful. Volunteers picked me up at the

airport, etc, etc. The nurses even had my clothes washed.

I also worked in the health care profession as a nurse from 1979 to

1998. I worked for Kaiser. It has always been about money with them. I

wouldn't go back into that field for a million bucks.

But, Rogene is right. There are a few good ones out there. I took my

son to Urgent Care last month for the panic attacks and he saw a

Physician's Assistant that talked to him for 30 minutes and told him

that he was too stressed and that he needed to drop off the summer

baseball and just rest for the rest of the summer. My son totally

relaxed after that and enjoyed the summer. I was amazed that we found

someone like that, willing to listen and take the time. So, I have to

believe that there are some out there who still care and want to

help.Don't give up.

Hi Dede,

I found the doctor from a girl who used to be my au pair when my kids

were little. I went to a gynecologist at UCLA and she told me about a

product that would not be approved by the FDA for about 3 years. I

just thought I would ask my friend Evi if she could see if they were

using it in her country and, wouldn't you know it, she was working for

a doctor who was using it to treat males who developed adhesions after

hernea operations. That doctor told her about my doctor and next thing

I knew I had my surgery scheduled. I was a member of an on-line

support group for adhesion sufferers at the time and everyone started

to fly to Germany after that. That's when they opened a floor in the

nurses apartments for families and patients. Dr. Korell became quite

famous. I am completely healed of the adhesions today (and convinced

now that it was from the leaking silicone).

So, I was very much like you, unable to even walk for 5 minutes or do

any housework. I lost my relationship to my 10 year boyfriend and

almost gave up on life. But, you never know what kind of miracles God

has up his sleeve.

I am doing really well tonight, thank you. There is nothing on TV and

no movies in the mail today (Netflix). So, here I am.

Hope you are having a good evening too.

Love, Joanne
