Guest guest
Hi Gang, Well it seems the leg infection is gone.....but In this ongoing prosess my leg is still swollen...had three ultra sounds on it, the last one was on both arms and legs testing blood pressure and whatever they are looking for....least there is no clots. One of the MD wonder boys said I may have to go to a vein specialist for a compression type sock. Question......Have any of you ever hear of this for swollen leg(s)??? Ok, see ya,
Guest guest
Hi , Good news, infection is gone. I have swollen legs too. I'm on Lasix (diuretic) for it. The swelling started after hospital stay and massive amounts of iv fluids. It hasn't been under control for a long time. Compression stockings were suggested for me as well. It can be very painful with the skin stretching and cracking from the swelling during the day and shrinking during rest. They check my pressure as well and always concerned about blood clots too since the clot last summer. I think it's routine for them to do that. If they aren't concerned then it sounds like you are on your way to recovery. Hopefully, sweilling gets better after you try the compression stockings. healing energy, Ebony > > Hi Gang, > Well it seems the leg infection is gone.....but > > In this ongoing prosess my leg is still swollen...had three ultra sounds > on it, the last one was on both arms and legs testing blood pressure and > whatever they are looking for....least there is no clots. > One of the MD wonder boys said I may have to go to a vein specialist > for a compression type sock. > Question......Have any of you ever hear of this for swollen leg (s)??? > > Ok, see ya, > >
Guest guest
I reckon most of us are glad to hear about your progress. Now we have to hope the infection stays away. I have a couple of pairs of compression stockings that are about knee high. I was given tests because both of my legs were swollen. The left one was a result of Vioxx and who knows about the right one. I was given a prescription for a pair of 20# socks and they cost $30 a pair! The local WalMart couldn't beat the price of the hospital store, so that's where I got them. Now, WalMart has them on the rack for under #10. It causes a lot of pain to put them on and take them off, but they do feel good on my legs. Like most products today, there are no magic qualities, they are just socks that make your calves feel good for a while. It won't hurt to get a pair of low pressure socks and try them. You might get to like the way they feel. I also have a complete leg sleeve, it's kind of like spandex. Sometimes it feels good also, but the things I use most are a pair of stretch knee pads, even wear them all day sometimes.
