Hi Friends,

I have just received blood test results.

My numbers are 600.

Dr said anything over 20 was " affected " (not sure if

that's the right term.)

Does that sound high?

I'm taking Nabumetone with good results, while I wait

for the appt with the rheumatologist. (February!)

I'm 43, married, active, working full time...

Looking forward to getting support from fellow RA

sufferers and suggestions to improve comfort.

BTW... I thought it was just me, but somewhat

confirmed after some internet searches, does anyone

else find that coffee aggrevates the joint

discomforts?

Thanks!

Patty

I have. That's why I cut it out of my life back in April 2006. I

haven't really missed it. I am now enjoying herbal and caffeine free teas.

Hi .

Welcome to our group. You sound a lot like me. I'm 51 years old and I

also have IBS. I've had it for about 10 years. When I first got it

they did every test they could think of because they didn't know what

was wrong with me. Back then it wasn't as widespread as it is today.

I have RA but it doesn't show up in my bloodwork either. But as for

you having Hashimoto's thyroiditis, I'm sorry,I don't know much about

that. Even the name sounds dreadful.

My mother had RA, so my family pretty much knows what RA is. Before

my Mother passed away she told my Brother to make sure that I got her

walker, wheelchair, and scooter. So they know RA progresses and it

never goes away. My Brother told me he didn't think I'd be able to

work long enough to reach retirement age. Probably not, but I'm going

to work as long as I can.

What exactly does a Internist do? Can they treat RA patients. I've

been thinking about finding a doctor that's closer to where I live.

But there aren't any rheumatologists in the town where I live. We do

have a Internist though. Take care.

ago, along with an official diagnosis of IBS. Talk about the dreaded

three! On days when I'm not in joint agony, my eyes are dry, hair

falls out, or I'm on the potty. Many times it is a combination of

all of them...the fatigue from RA tends to make my IBS flare up,

which makes my eyes hurt like the dickens, so forth and so on. I was

49 when my doctor finally decided to give me these diagnoses. I'm 51

now.

As you can well imagine, in those two to three years, I was tested

and treated for everything in the book. I was treated for cancer,

diabetes, fibro, even depression! RA may well be discouraging, but I

was hurting, not depressed!

lady doctor, an internist, who spent 20 years as a nurse before going

to school to become a doctor...wonderful bedside manner, and is a

great help. She spotted that I was being treated for stuff I didn't

have, and suspected RA long before the official diagnosis.

laws are not supportive mainly because they are ignorant of what RA

is...their advice is to take those herbal joint compounds. They are

also of the opinion that " you'll get better soon " . Yeesh! My

husband has tried to explain it to them to no avail. Has anyone else

had folks tell you that you will get over RA?

where I can feel like I'm not the only one in the world in such

pain. Thanks!!!
