Guest guest
Hi Laurie; Yes, RA is a devastating bomb that was dropped on your family. It takes a little time to put thing in perspective. I do not know of any RA spouse support group, but we are all here for you any time. We may have a nasty disease, but we have big shoulders. Take care. He began having symptoms after Christmas and in three days went from mild right ankle pain to full body immobilizing pain. We're pretty floored. We have 2 preschoolers, so you can imagine the stress. Thankfully 's inflammation and pain went into remission right away with prednisone and Mobic. We think he's having a flareup and he's begun taking the Mobic again. He is also on plaquenil, but only for a couple weeks now, so I don't think it's really kicking in yet. He has been having some dizziness with this med. Is that common? Does it go away as your body adjusts to the med? This is all so new to us--we are pretty clueless. Does anyone know of any support groups for patients/spouses in the northwest Arkansas area? Guest guest
Laurie, I am so sorry you're going through this. I am 35 and have been 'dealing with it' (not always successfully) for less than 2 years or so. My husband and I also have 3 children (kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade). We live in Springdale Arkansas and haven't found any support groups, but if you'd like to correspond since we may be local, please do! My personal e-mail is: casterramom@... Look forward to hearing from you. God Bless and I'll be praying. Prisicilla " C. Y. " <cjmy3454@...> wrote: Hi Laurie; Yes, RA is a devastating bomb that was dropped on your family.
