Returning to dscussions and need some input

It has been a while since I have checked in you all, and have miseed

you. I am Jeanine from Florida and was diagnosed in 2001 with

Active RA. I have had a lot of challenges with medicine since then

unitl I started Humira a week after it hit the market. It was a

dream drug for me, other than the brochial infections every few

months, and the fact that I had to start taking it weekly to keep up

the effectiveness. Still, it was better than the Enbrel had been,

and fewer injections. Long story short, over the summer, it quit

working. Back to the good old drawing board. I am now taking

Imuran with some success, but my pancreas and liver enzymes are

already up after only 1 month, so it looks to be short lived as

well. My doctor has reccommended that we look into Orencia. It

looks like my insruance has tentatviley approved me (like they have

a choice since nothing else is working), and if things stay as they

are, I will probably be starting it in December.

Now that I've rambled on.... Has anyone else tried it yet? How was

your experience? Are you taking a DMARD with it, or just Orencia.

My probablem is that I am allergic to Sulfa based drugs, and have

managed to react to almost all other Non-Biogic DMARDS that I have

tried.
