Guest guest
AS many of you know, due to complications, I lost half of my left breast to necrosis. When the incisions healed, I had very much hard tissue in my breast. My local Dr. told me it was probably fatty scar tissue and after all I had been through I was lucky to have a breast. He told me it may never soften, may never have feeling again and if I did not see any softening or disappearance of the hard mass in 3 more weeks, in his experience, it would never get any softer or shaped any better. I was pretty upset, because I had already decided I didn't want to go back in a year for a mini tram and reconstruction. Once my breast was healed, I just felt LUCKY to have a breast and to have no holes or infections anymore and wanted to call it quits. I got to thinking one day and remembered that my first husband had a bad bone break that did not heal. They reoperated, put pins and a plate on the broken bone and sewed up an electrical pulsating device into his arm to facilitate the healing. It worked, and a few weeks later, they removed the device. Because I have severe shoulder and neck pain, my Dr. prescribed a " tens unit " for my continual pain. It sends an electrical, pulsating charge, and has sticky pads which have wires, much like an EKG machine. Without asking anyone or telling anyone, when I was alone, I began putting the tens unit on my hard, mishapen breast. I had no feeling in it whatsoever, and I could crank that baby up to the highest setting til it jumped and never feel a thing. I have been doing this now for weeks--secretly. It is my own experiment, and to my amazement, the tissue has softened and there is only one small hard area which is shrinking. I now have feeling in the entire breast except for that small area, and each week, the area in which I have feeling increases. As I sit here, I have this tens unit on my breast and I can no longer crank up the intensity to halfway! Now, my breast is " fluffing up " and it jiggles and moves and the shape is GOOD. The skin is healthy, the color is back, and I can hardly wait for my local MD to see how it has improved! He will have to eat his words! I don't know if this would be effective for anyone else or for other scar tissue problems, but this is my own personal experiment and I just wanted to share. I am witnessing a near miracle with this little breast...hehe...
Guest guest
Dear Jeena I have also used a tens unit on my extremely painful feet, unfortunately it never did much for me, however I do believe that they can be helpful, I know my in laws use theirs for everything and claim it helps them so much. Love, PS I am glad your healing so well, that is great news! ----- Original Message ----- From: " el_jeena " <el_jeena@...> < > Sent: Saturday, February 02, 2002 1:57 PM Subject: A Secret About something I am trying... > AS many of you know, due to complications, I lost half of my left > breast to necrosis. Guest guest
Good for you!!! That is great to hear. As I have been told by others, some docs out there don't want people to completely heal or else they would have no business left. You need to do what you feel helps. Look at how many docs people see and how often they see them? It never used to be like that? My dad also brought up a good point. Growing up in ND, he and also I, my greatgrandma used to put eggs in the basket on a shelf for a week and they would be fine. Now you can't leave eggs out on the counter for 15minutes or they will kill you. I don't get it. ----- Original Message ----- From: " el_jeena " <el_jeena@...> < > Sent: Saturday, February 02, 2002 3:57 PM Subject: A Secret About something I am trying... > AS many of you know, due to complications, I lost half of my left > breast to necrosis.
