I will chip in a little. I will try to sell some things on Ebay and donate

it to the fund to help e.

Love,

Angelika

Hi Nik,

I, too, am saddened by e's letter, and hope that she can find some

answers to her predicament soon. I am sure there are several options open

to her that will work out--e, had some good ideas, with rooming

with someone, or finding some housing that does not perform credit checks or

background checks. At your hospital where you work, is there a board where

employees can post ads for housing?

The idea of a support fund has been tossed around occasionally in the past

on Ilena's group, and also on ours early in its days. However, there are

very difficult issues to overcome with such an idea.

First and foremost, there is the question of who would administer such a

fund? As much as I would love to see all of us pitching in to help each

other, I am not sure how it could be done easily. I would never allow

myself to be put in such a situation of administering a fund, due to the

potential accusations that could arise, as they always do, about where the

money is coming from and where it is going. I am not up for that.

There are also other questions, such as how do we determine where the money

goes and who is the most needy? Who decides?

I think this problem would best be dealt with by those who already have

not-for-profit organizations established....namely, Ilena Rosenthal (who I

admire, respect and trust immensely) and her Humantics Foundation for Women,

and also Martha Murdock who has the National Silicone Implant Foundation.

Perhaps those interested can contact these two organizations for further

suggestions.

Yes Patty I agree with what your saying, it is a pretty difficult thing to

carry out, while it sounds wonderful enough, in reality it could be hard to

do.

I agree that the women you listed who run these agencies are better equipped

to do something like this.

I do care though immensely for e and also for others who need explants

and cannot afford them, it is just a hard hard situation ....

Love,
