Guest guest
In December, I started trying to wean myself off Prednisone and had a terrible side effect from it. I dropped from 10 mg/day to 6 mg/day when I started experiencing growing problems with my right leg. A it went on, I found that the only way to get relief was to sit, stand, or lie down leaning forward and to the left a little, otherwise my leg would hurt, tingle, go numb, etc.. I diagnosed it as a pinching of the Sciatic nerve right in my lower back. My doc ordered MRI's and couldn't do anything about it, I had to go to a pain management clinic for treatment. In the meantime, I went back up on the Prednisone and started getting relief. By the time (3 months) I got in to see the pain doc, it was mostly okay, so he just told me to not stop taking the Prednisone. All that sage advice and it only cost a couple hundred dollars and a long, suffering trip! Maybe I can become a pain doc. I can tell patients that if it hurts when they do that, to stop doing that.
