Penny:

Make sure the doctor gives you that referral ASAP, and

let the rheumy's office know of how much pain you are

in, and that you were dx with RA 6 years ago, and then

never went back to the doctor for treatment. That

should get them going.

As far as the cleaning, bail out! If you are feeling

as awful as you are saying, and having so much pain,

the cleaning can wait, my friend. One more day won't

hurt, and probably the only one to notice will be you

anyway - it seems that way around my house sometimes -

I have to point things out!

Also, when cleaning, do not, and I repeat, do not,

overdo yourself. This will only cause more stress and

more pain which causes more stress and more pain - get

my drift here? Vicious cycle. I do only one room a

day, and work no more than 30 minutes before taking a

break. If I am begin to feel pain, I quit there. I

do not overuse my body because I have done that and

know what will happen! You need to learn to pace

yourself with things like this - nothing all at one

like you were saying.

Get on that couch now, girl, and put those feet up,

get your heating pad and rice socks, and rest!

Tomorrow is another day, and you need to be ready for

it. Don't stress the small things - we have all

learned to do that, or are working on it at least!

Take care - hang in there and hope you see that rheumy

soon! Kathe in CA

Kathe,

Your advice is good, but I work five of the next six days so I had

to clean today. On the days that I work, that takes most of my

energy. I work Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday and

then I sing in church choir on Wednesday night. My treat will be

four days off in a row. I work from 9:40am until about 5:15pm and I

am the only one in the store when I am working.

I did what I needed to do. The bathroom and the kitchen...and I

cooked supper. I am in my granny gown and resting. My husband

cleans up the kitchen and does the dishes. Hugs, Penny

ps. The first time that I could get in is Jan 2, 2007.
