Guest guest
has anyone here had to experience the ear tubes and plagio thing yet? livie has been referred for a consult to the ear nose and throat guy for tubes.she's had 6 ear infections all with effusion that did not respond the first time to an antibiotic in the past 4 months. wondering if anyone has had tubes inserted yet? how much of an impact does plagio have on ear infections? can they do the tubes if her ears are out of line? do they work if the ears are out of line with everything else on her head? thanks for any info.our appointment isn't until july 10/right before court.yay. lynne and livie. Guest guest
The American Whole health library notes that " as the number of cranial strain patterns increases, so did incidence of otitis media. Those children who had plagiocephlay at birth had increased incidence of middle ear infections. " Taken from " Cranial Dysfunction in Otitis Media " from Whole Health Library / Osteopathy. www.americanwholehelath.com/library/osteopathy There are also several other articles that mention a link with ear infections and plagio. It would seem that the connection is the shifting of the tubes inside while the outside is becoming assymetical. Our sons keeps fluid on the ears, sometimes infected, sometimes not, but always thick. He has thickened walls and dullness etc. Thankfully this has not affected his hearing at this time. Since ear infections tend to run in families, and my other two children didn't have ear infections, our pediatrician does think that the connections in the literature are valid. Hope this helps.
