Guest guest
I am new to the list. I work as a private consultant/therapist/trainer, (BA and MEd in SPED, and BCBA) and have been receiving supervision and training from CARD since about 1998, although I do not work directly for them as an employee. I have worked with many families, many of whom have " recovered " their kids using CARD and bioledical approaches. I think in my experience they are very comprehensive in their methodologies. They use whatever works for a kid, like PECS or VB, and are not " rigid " . It works, and I give them awesome recommendations. Feel free to email me for more info. They have a curriculum for everthing, inluding Theory of Mind, social cognition, and Executive Functioning. Amy Re: my son is recovered!!!!!!!!!!! Way to go !!!! Guest guest
's Stomach Ache Haha, I like that header: " 's Stomach Ache " Interesting, I didn't know that about ulcers, that food could hurt. Mine doesn't seem to discriminate between foods, anything, bland or otherwise hurts, but that just may be because everything is sore. I know, many days the stomach pain is worse than the RA pain! Glad you're better now. How did you get diagnosed? What criteria do they use? Is there a " test " ? Thx
Guest guest
Well, , I had my ulcer when I was in my early 20's. That's been a long time ago. . .I'm 59 now. So, I'm sure diagnosis and treatment have changed since then. As I remember, I had to drink some kind of foul concoction and then get " pictures " taken. Strangely, I can't remember what they used to " get pictures " of my innards. But I vividly remember the pain I was in. I also remember that I had to have medication before I was able to deal with the bland diet. I still believe that my ulcer was caused mostly by stress (I was also hyperventilating). So, in addition to the meds & diet, I started practicing yoga; and that helped me tremendously for many years until the RA grabbed me. Although many details of my ulcer adventures have gotten hazy over the years, I remember the pain as if it were yesterday. I hope you get relief soon. Darn, sounds like this will be hard to diagnose, especially for my often diagnosis-challenged pcp Do you remember what kind of bloodwork? I've had all the regular stuff for Arava, etc, liver, pancreas, sed, cbc...is there something different for this that I maybe should ask for? Thx,
Guest guest
, this showed up on the CBC. I looked back through my lab results, and I believe I found the one that showed it. My HGB, HCT, and MCHC were low. As I remember, the doctor said that two of those being low showed bleeding somewhere in the body. I forgot which two out of my three lows. Hope this helps a little, even though I couldn't explain it very well.
