Guest guest
Toshiba to install beta 256-slice CT at s Hopkins 11/28/2006 Toshiba America Medical Systems of Tustin, CA, announced that it will install the first beta 256-slice CT scanner in the U.S. at the s Hopkins University School of Medicine and Heart Institute in Baltimore in February 2007. The work-in-progress system will be at s Hopkins for a limited time to further clinical research and product development, and for testing in assessing critical radiology and cardiac CT protocols, Toshiba said. The scanner is designed to acquire a large volume of data that can cover the brain or heart in a single rotation. Dynamic multiple-phase studies such as perfusion of the brain, heart, or other organs are also possible. The system's volume acquisition provides more accurate images and lowers dose, according to Toshiba.
