I don't see anything posted here that people would not talk and compare

notes in conversation. Knowledge is power!!!! There is nothing wrong with this

conversation.

You act as if we are talking about something taboo that we will get arrested

for!!! Shesh.

Without this group half of the drug and treatment info I would not know

about. This group is an excellent source of knowledge because we are all over

the world. We get to learn about things that many not even be here in the US

and other's from outside the US learn what is going on.

I hate to tell you but not all medical treatment is equal as you travel from

place to place. So I have gotten many good tips and things to ask my doc

about. He as always shocked when I brought him medical journal articles. I

guess I was suppose to be one of those patients that just took his work for the

gospel and did as he said with no questions. NOT!!!

I think you sir are out of line on this one. When you logged on to the

group there is a disclaimer stating this is not medical advice and should not

be

taken as such. Consult your physician before making any changes or

additions.

Secondly that is just good common sense. The only liability here I see is

your attitude about this.

Lastly if not for the conversation and the questions asked would not be

able to provide use with the volumes of research materials that she

does.....hmmmmm...so should she not do that....are you saying she is opening

herself

up for liable by posting the medical journal articles....I think NOT.

I am very grateful for this group and for and all her hard work. As

well as all the other positive contributing members of this group that make it

great.

It's always shocking to me that Dr's are ignorant regarding some of

the things I learn from others online.

I use a product for urinary tract infections and yeast infections

that neither my urologist not my regular Dr. know about or

would have recommended, I took in articles about them to my DR.

These products have CHANGED my life for the better.

Sure there are many things on the internet that are bogus and

deceiving. If you've found this group, I would assume you know how

to filter content

and make an informed decision about your own care. If not, that's

unfortunate, but not the fault of anyone here.

Wish I had known you last year. Had the urinary infection from h$*l. Took

over almost 3 months to clear up. Not counting the specialists, tests,

antibotics etc. Had to do a lot of reserach to track what I had and what to

do, and keep on doing. And to filter the info, like you said.

regular tests weren't getting it. Ended up being inside my urthea and told it

looked like I had diaper rash there. Hurts even thinking about what I went

through during the whole process.

Anyhow, it isn't like it was when I was growing up in the '50's. Now you need

a medical advocate with you or be very very knowledgable about your own

condition and not take and accept anything and everything the doc tells you

meekly. Docs may not like me, but I " m not asking them to be my best friend.

I want to be treated like an intelligent adult and not as a number for the

insurance form.

I have so many horror stories from others who aren't arthritic, but have their

own tales about treatment or not from various clinics, hospitals, etc. Most of

them ended up okay, because somewas acting as medical advocate and rescued them.

(most recent one is BIL who was scheduled for an endoscopy and clinic insisted

it was a colonoscopy; was taken care of by much shouting by his wife who

wouldn't back down from the non-file readers).
