These autoimmune diseases can often mimic each other symptoms, overlap symptoms, and not show up on blood work. There is seronegative RA which is not shown by the RF factor, but you still have RA. Luckily, I was positive RF with positive symptoms on examination, and got my diagnosis quickly, and started treatment quickly. I hope that your rheumy is able to find the diagnosis soon, and begin proper treatment, but in the meantime, is he helping with your pain management? Perhaps an anti-inflammatory could bring you some relief while you are waiting for a diagnosis. Best of luck - happy you found us, but sorry for the reason you did.
