Hi All...

Just a small note...

A couple of weeks ago...while being treated for a DVT brought on by being in a

cast for more than 6 months with a broken foot...I woke up in a tremendous

amount of pain in my left elbow. After going to another Orthopedic doc...because

mine doesn't " do " arms....seems they think I ruptured my left tricep muscle.

I finally got into a Diagnosis Center that does Open MRI's and after an hour

of torture in the Open MRI...I finally had my pictures the doc needs. I say

torture because I cannot straighten out my arm completely.... so, they put a

collar around my elbow for taking the pictures with, stuffed it full of padding,

and then extended my arm for me and strapped it down so they could get the

pictures!! Then I had to lay there motionless for an hour...all the while I had

the MRI machine pressing into my chest enough to make it hard for me to breathe.

The Open MRI machine I was in looks like two hamburger buns...and you lay down

and are the " meat. " So even if you are not closterphobic...which I am not....it

was hard to not have a full fledged panic attack during the time the MRI machine

is doing it's thing. When I finally got out...the tech comes out and unstraps

me...helps me up and everything...and then touches my elbow and says... " I'll bet

your arm hurts right here " ...pressing

into the area where the pain is the worst. He was lucky I didn't punch him for

doing that!!! He said the radiologst would have to read the pics and then send

them to my doctor...but he said he could see plenty of damage in my elbow.

Again...resisting the urge to punch his lights out..I got my stuff

together...paid my $120 co-pay and left. I waited until I cooled off and got

home before I called the manager of the center and told him what happened and

that I was not a happy that the tech had touched and pressed into my arm where

the pain was, and offered me his opinion on my MRI. I also told the director

that I almost punched his tech for touching me.

The office director called me back this morning, and told me that he notified

the Tech that his actions were not proper and that he was written up over the

incident.

I am waiting for the PA to call me back today for the results, or when to come

in to get them...and have told them I liked the MRI center they sent me too, but

also told them what the Tech did and said to me after the MRI was over. I found

it very unprofessional and it was not appreciated at all.
