Hi

NMH/Neurally Mediated Hypotension can mimick ME and other disease

processes. It is when your blood pressure changes dramatically when

you stand. It usually drops and then you pass out. The first thing

it does though is the Blood Pressure will rise a little to compensate

and then it drops as you continue to stand.

In most cases when the BP drops then the heart rate/HR rises to

compensate movement of blood through the body.

My BP drops and so does my HR, which puts me in to serious physical

shutdown.

When I get on a horse I have balance in sitting postition. I have

ridden all my life. I fall more when I am on my own feet.

HIPPO therapy (horse theapy) is very popylar now as part of the

physical therapy for people with neurological disease or accident.

Also for children who have Cerebral Palsy, and other problems.

So for me when I am on a horse I am more stable less dizzy. Plus

sitting on a horse does not take strength as it takes balance. Horses

are great, they know when someone is on them who is fragile.

Oh when my blood pressure drops that is when I am in serious need of

IV infusion, I get " lactated Ringers/electrolyte and Norma Salline) on

a weekly basis. I have learned to give it to my self.

Many people around the USA are on IV infusion to help with the times

when their blood loses it's volume. Meanin the blood is thick and

there is not enough fluid in the blood.
