Guest guest
Fibromyalgia can cause extreme fatigue and pain that affects many areas of the body. Almost any work can present substantial challenges. If your work is otherwise personally satisfying, it should be worth the time and effort to identify problems and seek solutions. In 1990, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was passed, requiring employers to make adjustments and accommodations for people with disabilities and chronic illnesses. Some employers have resources and support to make these accommodations through their occupational health and human resource departments. Large organizations may send an ergonomic or occupational expert to evaluate a work site and recommend changes to accommodate individual needs. As of July 1994, companies with 15 or more employees are required to follow the ADA guidelines.
