Hi all!

My dr. wants me to try cromolyn for my sob/chest tightness. i've

already tried qvar/albuterol/flovent/xopenex/metferoal,singulair,

prednisone...none of which have helped.

She said try it for 2 weeks, and if it doesn't help add in the

singulair.

I'm trying to get as much info. on cromolyn (intal?) as I can so

anyone who has used it or is still please tell me EVERYTHING :)

Thanks so much, hope all are well!

Hi Shefy:

I've used both Intal and Tilade (they are pretty close to the same

thing). This was prescribed to me for exercise induced asthma back in

the early 90's (I have allergy induced asthma too). This medication

helped me a lot at the time and really provided protection against

triggers -- especially exercise.

One thing to note is that when you take puffs of this inhaler, the

medication can feel " particulate " in the back of your throat and might

make you cough a little. This is pretty normal and something you will

get used to quickly. When I took these back in the early 90's, they

were considered extremely safe. I am sure that they still are.

Best of luck with it!
