Actually, Shyam,

I was waiting for exactly this question.

The answer is easy. The whole room is carved with fertility symbols, so it

has something to do with fertility. Secondly, the God of Fertility is shown

here in full size, including some specific parts of his anatomy. The after

effects, in the form of a birth and a smiling mother are carved prominently.

(There is no sign of the happy father.)

BUT the clinching evidence is that the collection is taken from an Erect

phallus. Any Tom, Dick and Harry knows that collecting Urine from an erect

organ is a physical impossibility. Thus if Urine was being collected, it

would have been a downward pointing thing.

I hope now, Shyam, you can argue rather vehemently with your friend the

Duktoor from Jordan. And if he disagrees, you can challenge him to collect

the necessary evidence with an erect organ! I think, that will silence him.

;)

An interesting story about the God of Fertility:

He is always depicted with his left arm missing. Egyptian mythology says

that once when the Pharaoh went hunting for a prolonged period, he returned

and found to his surprise all his numerous Queens pregnant. On deep

questioning, the God of Fertility was called over and declared guilty.

By the Egyptian Law, an eye for an eye, you can easily guess what part was

due for amputation. The God of Fertility then asked for mercy. The Pharaoh

then gave him a choice of offering an arm instead. The God gladly accepted

the exchange, knowing what was more useful for him.

Since then, the God of Fertility always has his left arm missing.

And I think, since then the phrase " to cost an arm and leg " came into

existence. The Egyptians considered Gods to be friends of Pharaohs. I think,

since then another phrase also became common: " If one has friends like him,

you don't need enemies. "

Now how about a 'standing' ovation' for me?
