Guest guest
I don't know. I think you should get a second opinion on that. I can blow 400+ even when flaring up, so I think your numbers are too low and your doctor isn't being as aggressive with your treatment as he should be. I know I'm in real big trouble when my I can't blow above 300-350. I normally blow 500 or more. Take care, Helga wrote: I was diagnosed about 7 years ago with Asthma. I take Advair, Singulair and Allegra. I have never been able to go over 250 on the peak flow meter. I've gone as low as 100. I've been told that as one gets older,(between 55 and 60), that is all one can expect to get on the peak flow meter. Has anyone else been told the same? Does that seem right? My daughter who also has asthma can go to 400 and higher.God bless you! Yahoo! Messenger with Voice. PC-to-Phone calls for ridiculously low rates. Guest guest
I got something for my lungs, but I am not sure what it is called. I just had to inhale on it as hard as I could 10 times every couple of hours. Re: Peak flow meter Your doctor should be able to give you one or write the prescription. I got one from my doctor and another when I was in the hospital last August having my knee operated on. McCollum wrote: I have never used a peak flow meter. Do you need a prescription to get one? Guest guest
That's a spirometer or something like that. I used one of those in the hospital too. You exhale with a peak flow meter.
