Had them done today, no problem, got my cute little monitor on

waistband. Don't remember any of it...the preop stuff of course,

but just before they rolled me in, they gave me something (I assume

versed), and I barely remember getting on the table. Coughing a

little blood, minor sore throat, and some difficulty eating, but

will not worry about any of that until tomorrow.

They did not take any biopsy's, so no results at this point. But

been interesting watching the ph monitor, cause it reads it every

six seconds (I think thats an interval) and displays the ph level...\

Question for Matt, or whoever...what would be the normal ph level in

the esophagus if one didn't have GERD ? It has gone as low as 2, at

one point where I felt like I might through up. Lovely discussion,

sorry ! I think I remember vaguely from science classes a long time

ago....stomach acid is around the same as hydrocloric, which would

make it pretty low.

Also, told I have minor sleep apnea. New one !! I can't even tell

you how many procedures I have been put out for in the past few

years, back surgery (2) wrist surgeries (3), gynecological surgeries

(2) and about 10 nerve blocks and epidurals....oh well....
