Persons who have CFS have been known to go into a remission. It can last

anywhere from 1- 5 years from what I Have heard. My cousin just went back into a

relapse, and is doing very poorly...

Thank you Theresa! You are right about taking care to eat well and

keep away from the offending foods. I had trouble with wheat, soy,

citric acid, chocolate, and a miriad of spices and such. I seem to be

almost through that now, and it's just wonderful. Yes, sugar is a

baddie, but I like it. So I have a hard time giving it up. And I

love bread, which is made with yeast, which I have read is a way of

getting your system out of whack. So I have my challenges.

Back when I first got sick, I couldn't tolerate much and hadn't heard

of health food or macrobiotic diets, so I ate baby food and mashed

potatoes. They did an upper GI and they said the barium went through

me in 20 minutes. This showed why nothing was staying in me. My

insides were in overdrive. I felt like I didn't get nutrition from

what I ate, but at the same time I never lost any weight. That is a

mystery to me.

But I am so much better, and happy to hear I will probably remain so.

I would like to encourage people with CFS to hang in there. There is

light at the end of the tunnel.

You are right about listening to our bodies. Too bad we can't always

take action, tho, practically. Bc of jobs and family and all. We

can't always rest when we know we need to. I still have days I want

to stay in bed, but at least I can function for the most part. My

hormones are more to blame now, I think, for the bad days.

Thanks for responding, and all the best to you!

I said a prayer for your cousin. I am sorry to hear about the relapse,

and that such a thing can happen. Oh, that would be awful. I already

feel too much of my life has been robbed and I will never catch up

with it, but with my remaining time on this earth, I'd like to feel

good enough to accomplish at least some of my dreams.

Take care.
