Guest guest
Dear all For you attention. Regards Tejinder --1976 ________________________________ From: punjabeyesurgeons on behalf of amrit sethi Sent: Fri 3/10/2006 3:07 PM To: letters@...; ima; punjabeyesurgeons Subject: [punjabeyesurgeons] (unknown) Press Release The ongoing agitation by the resident doctors in Maharashtra for redressal of their genuine grievances deserves support from all quarters. Nowhere in the world, the doctors are physically assaulted in cases of hospital deaths. The malady is gaining dangerous proportions in the wake of unsympathetic and unresponsive attitude of the authorities against such acts of lawlessness. All civilized societies find legal succor in such accidents. It is not just an isolated case of slapping of a resident doctor in Mumbai; but a malady that is becoming contagious. It is not just a matter of security; but also of dignity of medical profession. Resident doctors who work 24X7 for a meager stipend are facing the wrath of authorities; their careers are at stake. Their medical registration is being cancelled. Nothing could be more horrendous & unpalatable for the cause of justice. Indian Medical Association has, very rightly, given a call for a Nation-wide strike on 13-14 March if the demands of the doctors are not met with. Doctors all over Punjab have decided to participate in the agitation. Dr Amrit Sethi 10.3.06 President-Elect, IMA Punjab State Bathinda ________________________________ Jiyo cricket on Yahoo!
