Guest guest
Hello Girdey: Welcome to the group! This is a great place to come for support and information. I have fibromyalgia too, as well as RA, OA and Raynaud's. For my fibro I take two muscle relaxers, one three times a day (Skelaxin) and the other at night (Zanaflex) along with the sleep medication. I have had good relief from muscle spasms with those medications. I also take Lyrica and Cymbalta which help with nerve pain I get in my legs, mainly at night. I also use heating pads, rice socks, and ice - it all depends on what works at that time. I also take hot showers which help relax my muscles, and meditation also is helpful - when I can get some quiet space with all that goes on in my home! My husband and two kids (22 and 19), as well as my dogs, horses, and lots of fowl keep me busy, so finding time for just me sometimes gets hard, but I do try to do this every day. Are you under the care of a doctor for your fibro? I also take multivitamins, omega oil complex, and vitamin C+D, also folic acid and milk thistle, but the last two are mainly for my RA meds. Oh, and stretching also helps, really slow and not overdone, or else I get muscle cramps! But movement of a slow nature, stretching out your muscles fully, does help to relieve muscle tension which can cause the muscle spasms. I hope this has helped - ask anything else you might have a question about, and I am sure that you will get an answer, probably several, as the people in this group are very helpful.
