Guest guest
Hi, I have been taking Singular for about one year for help with my Asthma and it helps me a lot. My Asthma is worsened by allergies and the Singular has cut my attacks in half. It is worth it to me but it does cost about $65 a month. Has your doctor ever tried Advair inhaler for you? My doctor gives me both Advair and Albuterol. Hope this info. helps. Doylemylhasa_graciesue wrote: Anyone here take singular for their asthma? I have adult onset asthma and am interested in this medication. My GP just has me on zyrtec and albuteral inhaler and it is NOT working!!It's not always about asking the questions rather questioning the answers. Everyone is raving about the all-new Yahoo! Mail. Guest guest
Thanks a bunch! I am going ask him if he would try me on that. I am new to this whole asthma ordeal. I moved to a different state three years ago and have developed adult onset since the move here-too many plants and trees that are triggering this. I can honestly say this is this worst thing in the world! It gets me down and depressed some days. I have been using my inhaler up to 3 or more times a night (it's worse at night) I wake up tired and weak most days as it is getting progressivly worse. I cannot move at this time so I am stuck in allergy state for the time being. > > Hi, I have been taking Singular for about one year for help with my Asthma and it helps me a lot. Guest guest
I'm sorry you're having such a tough time. I know what you're going through. I've had asthma since age 3 so I understand!!! I hope your doctor can help you find the right plan for you. Please don't let it get you down. Have you tried meditation? It's really great and it's worked wonders for me. I don't know if you're a spiritual person but I always ask for the white light of the holy spirit to surround me. And then just listen to some quiet music or just learn Yoga breathing and say affirmations to yourself. I say, " My lungs are healthy " or " I can breathe extremely well " or something like that. I do it for like 15 minutes at least twice a day. Sometimes I light a candle because it's just soothing to me. The worst thing you can do is " beat yourself up " about it. Just take it easy, take Vitamin C, try some yoga breathing and drink lots of water. Also, try drinking something hot before bed. Sometimes that helps loosen things up and makes it easier to sleep. I love herbal teas that have Vitamin C in them. Check out all your options. You can beat it. You are not your asthma. Remember that. Anyone here > take singular for their asthma? Guest guest
Thank you for you suggestions. I drink hot tea before bed and it does seem to help a little. I will try meditation & yoga and see if that helps. I do have vitamin c so I will try that as well. I am willing to try anything at this point!!!!! I cannot stand this!!! I really feel for you having this since age 3!! I'm having a terrible time coping with this and sometimes I feel fearful I may die from it, I know that sounds horrible but that is the way I feel right now. I just hope my GP puts me on something that can help me. I am going to suggest the singular med and I pray it helps me. Thank you so much for your understanding~ > > I'm sorry you're having such a tough time. I know what you're going > through. I've had asthma since age 3 so I understand!!! Guest guest
Asthma can be scary, but believe me, it can be controlled. If you're having that much trouble at night, you need to talk with your doctor again. Make sure he knows how bad you feel. Doctors can easily miss the extent of the problem if they only see you in the daytime when you're breathing more or less normally. Are you aware that pollen counts go up at night, so that open windows can be a lot bigger hazard at night than in the daytime? By the way, real tea (not herbal or decaf) contains theophylline, a caffeine-like substance with anitasthmatic properties. I've been asthmatic long enough (50 years) to remember when theophylline pills were state-of-the-art treatment for asthma. They worked all right but the side effects (insomnia, upset stomach, shakes and jitters, etc.) were pretty bad. The modern drugs are better; still, sometimes a few cups of tea can be just the thing to take off the edge, and it's not just the hot water. Keep reading up on what you can do for yourself, keep bugging your doctor if you have to (or get another one), and hang in there. You really can get asthma under control. Guest guest
I am being weaned off of Singulair right now to see what happens. I didn't notice any improvement when I started taking it, but now off one week, I seem short of breath, coughing more. Not sure at this point if its from being off of it, or just life. Does anyone know how long you need to be off it to notice change ? Kris > Anyone here take singular for their asthma? I have adult onset asthma > and am interested in this medication. Guest guest
When my insurance changed last year I had to go off several of my meds, and singulair was one of them. I noticed a difference within a week. When my medicare part D kicked in I went back on it and started improving again. I'm battling my asthma now because of our Tennessee weather changes which are common this time of year. I just got put on another antibiotic for a possible lymph node infection and my doctor said that it may help my asthma too. berry_kris wrote: I am being weaned off of Singulair right now to see what happens.
