Guest guest
I was skimming the posts and saw where there has been some discussion on hair loss. When I had my implants, I got horrible headsores, and eventually my hair quit growing, broke off, and I had bad bald spots. After it was so bad, I went on Prednisone and my hair started growing back in. However, it is not healthy hair and there must have been some cuticle damage. Now, my hair is long, but not very healthy. It seems my hair is improving some since my explantation, and I am no longer taking Prednisone. My Drs. said I would NEVER be able to get off of Prednisone because I was on it too long and they said my adrenals would no longer work. Well, I am happy to say that I am off of it now since my explantation in June. The hair loss problem seems to be pretty common with the women who have written to us on our site. Guest guest
I used Rogaine and it gave me the worst headache I had since a spinal tap. I would warn her about the headaches. I still have hair loss even after 8 years of explantation, I think its caused from stress mental and the physical stress from the pain we are in. Fortunantly when mine falls out new hairs are growing back but then a new patch will fall out. In my 20 years of hair loss I have learned not to worry about hair loss even though its tough. I use a hair mud on the bald spots the color of my roots to hide the bald patches. I also have done the cortizone injections in the scalp which I wouldnt suggest to anyone either. I know it Sucks, but the worring makes it fall out to, if you ask me.. I have acquired some cute hats and scarfs over the 20 years thats for sure. People say it gives me character. Hahahaha yeah Kojac " In peace I will both lie down and sleep. For you alone, O Lord, make me to dwell in safety. Guest guest
I agree unless the underlying issue is addressed the problem will only continue to grow, or rather not grow in this situation. Most women with health issues related to implants will not be able to resolve the issue as long as the culprit, the implant is still in their bodies. They can take drugs all day long but in the end the problem will not be resolved till the implants are gone, then you can begin to fix the problem, whether the issue is hair loss or pain, or whatever, you can only mask things with medication for so long. I hope that makes sense. Love ----- Original Message ----- From: perlesetlacet@... Guest guest
Marie, I must have shed all over my scalp--all I know is that my hair is much thinner now and I am not happy with the way it looks. I've even thought of getting one of those integrated hair pieces for special occasions. Have you ever tried one of those? I went to a hair center yesterday and it looked fabulous on me. Well, it should for $700! I about gagged when she told me the price. It was human hair. My hair is long, below shoulder length, so it is going to take a long time for my hair to look good again. I need to do something. Thanks for the help--what hair vitamins? I'm a little nervous about taking iron, too. I think I get enough from the beets I eat.
