Guest guest
Hi : I went on the low dose pill, since age 38, I am now 47, but I take it continuously, no breaks, I had the hot flashes the same way, every 30 min, and really bad. I thought I would spontaneously combust !!!! Jeanette French Re: Coping with Night Sweats Sorry for the large type, but I have a vision deficit... Dear , I didn't get them under some control until I got to an endocrinologist, who put me on Synthroid 25mcg. I had tried a couple of natural things, but they mostly don't work for me. I had them 24/7 about every 20 minutes, at the worst of it, about age 50, and I'm 60 now. Now they're just a few mild ones in the middle of the night. Go to: hypothyroidism , and you'll get more info than you ever wanted to know... Let me know how it goes. Blessings.
Guest guest
Hello, I have been to the indocrinologist for these sweats also but only get them during my wake hours and none when sleeping or night. He said it's a symptom of deficient Ammune system. I've been tested seven ways of sunday for hormones and all comes back just fine. I am 48 and since having a hysterectomy at a early age due to indometriosis, I've been on 2 mg of estrace. (I understand is the highest dose given for this) and also take thyroid meds that have been increased with same results as being normal. It is frustrating, uncomfortable and if I hear of anything that helps them, I will be the first one to write you! God Bless. Guest guest
Well that would have been interesting to see!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry my terrible sense of humour. Guest guest
Thanks for the replies so far. I just realized that I probably should have mentioned that these are not menopausal hot flashes... I am 32, my hormone levels tested fine and I have not had a hysterectomy or anything. The night sweats don't seem to be hot flashes per se... I don't feel overly warm, if anything I am freezing because I only wake up after I'm wet and as the sweats evaporate, I get cold. I've also had my thryoid levels checked about a million times and they supposedly have been normal every time. Guest guest
Hi , It might be better for us to use our logon names at least with our real name if you prefer. I am new here and trying to respond has been confusing at best at times (brain fog considered) but think it would help to know exactly who we are responding to. Thanks for saying your the initial thread starter and not the first reply...that helps I am with you on the sweats that while your having them also chill you to the bone while soaking everything around you. I shower so much anymore I think my skin could not be any dryer as a result until the sweats would start once again. I have found results in " Nature's Code with coq10 that I've read can help also. I have no idea what part of these vitamins are helping the sweats I was having but they are a womans formula that I purchased off of QVC. (dont laugh, Im a shut in lol) It could help you maybe? I haven't seen anyone come up with anything that has helped them stop these but this certainly has stopped mine. I do get periods of feeling warm but its very different now from drenching myself to a point of sweat dripping off the ends of my hair! God Bless! HOpe this helps you too! /Dutchie > > Thanks for the replies so far. I just realized that I probably should > have mentioned that these are not menopausal hot flashes... Guest guest
I know that night sweats (and/or " day sweats " ) can be a side effect of medications. This is probably the case with Klonopin. I double checked with my doctors, pharmacist and even the web to make sure that none of my meds had sweats listed as a side effect. If you have to take Klonopin frequently and the sweats are an issue for you, you might want to see if they are, indeed, a recognized side- effect. S. Guest guest
I think I'll be stopping at the store on the way home from work to buy some CoQ10. I've heard lots of other good effects it has and have been meaning to try it, so hearing it may help with night sweats is just the kick in the pants I need to actually go out and buy some. Oh, and no worries about the QVC thing. My father is NOT a shut in and is addicted to QVC. I've caught him tape-recording it so he won't miss a deal (seriously!) , and he has been one of the call-ins who get to talk on air more than once... The best part of it is just a year or two before he got addicted, he used to mock my grandma (his mother-in-law) behind her back for watching it. He couldn't believe that she would sit there and watch it. But, that's my dad for you... Ha-Ha! :-) (My mom is reaping the benefits of his QVC habit... she gets lots and lots of jewelrey for birthdays, Christmas, Valentine's Day and just because). S. Guest guest
HI , I don't need to take it very often, just for headaches, helps a little, Thanks Jeanette French Re: Coping with Night Sweats I know that night sweats (and/or " day sweats " ) can be a side effect of medications. Guest guest
Hi : What are the ingredients on your CQ-10. I am interested to know to see what may be helping with the sweats or is it just CQ-10, Thanks so much, Jeanette French Re: Coping with Night Sweats Hi , It might be better for us to use our logon names at least with our real name if you prefer. Guest guest
I have not been able to read most of the posts in a while, so I have to be " selective " and just read the ones that mention something I'm going through or have gone through. I hope this isn't confusing to people. As to night sweats, I had them almost every night or morning for years. Then they stopped. Now they've started again--but only when I'm way over-tired. I know I shouldn't allow myself to get that tired, but sometimes it can't be prevented. (When I moved recently, for instance. Even though I tried to pace myself, there was so much to do and so little help, that I got too tired and the night sweats started. As soon as I get enough (a lot!) of sleep and rest, they stop. That's all I know and I suppose it isn't much help... Guest guest
Hi ! Try either an intergrative or alternative doctor. Conventionals have done nothing for me! Guest guest
Hi , I've heard of quite a few people with night sweats (soaking their beds at least once a night) improve using magnetic sleep systems. They're pretty pricey though but I think it's worth it. I would buy mine again anytime though as it solved my 30 years of insomnia in a couple of weeks. Do you think this sweating problem might be caused by toxins? I'm not sure why the magnets work for this but I can ask a doctor who probably knows if you're interested or I can look it up in one of my unread magnet books. I think the magnets probably regulate hormones as they will also increase calcium levels in the body. Time for a course in physiology of the body! Sharon hotmocha@...
