Hello all! I am new to the group and thought I'd briefly introduce myself. I was

diagnosed with Fibro 8 years ago when I was 18 (right after the birth of our

first child). I've tried just about every kind of medication imagineable,

massage, PT, you name it. I am now currently not taking any medication at all,

except aleve and maybe tylenol here and there as needed (I interchange them). I

live in SC and the heat is almost unbearable with FMS. My symptoms have gotten

worse the last year for some reason. I currently work full time, have a hubby

and 2 kids. My husband has mentioned applying for disability b/c it is getting

more and more difficult to work. I am going to transition into the stay-at-home

mom routine hopefully in the next 6-12 mos and will also start homeschooling at

that time as well, depending on my FMS. Anyway, I hope to hear from you all and

I hope this group will be enjoyable and enlightening. Gentle hugs,

Hi :

Welcome! We are happy to have you here with us. The

people in this group are great, they are supportive

and friendly, and I know you will enjoy being here.

I have RA, OA, Raynaud's and Fibromyalgia. I am on

medications for my RA and Fibro, and find that taking

them gives me the quality of life I need and want.

That is great that you are able to do well on only

aleve and tylenol. Yes, heat is very difficult on

fibro, we've been having a heat wave here in souther

CA, and humidity, which is uncommon here, and it's

been aggravting both my fibro and RA symptoms.

It's difficult to get disability, I have heard, with

only a diagnosis of fibromyalgia, as it is not one of

the diseases that they recognize. I wish you the best

of luck, however, with going for it, and can only say

that you might want to look into getting a lawyer

specializing in disability to help you.

I hope to learn more about you -

That book was life altering for me... it was as if they had been looking

through a window into my house for two years! It will give you a lot of

steps, and will open your eyes. It was co-authored by Ging

(kiddietalk on this group). I would recommend that. And starting fish

oil ASAP- it helps with myelin sheath. Nordic Naturals... ProEPA and

ProEFA... or Complete 3-6-9 and EPA. Do you have a health food store

close?

Thanks -

I will get the book ASAP... do you think he would take the fish oil at 31

months? I've taken it in the past and it was hard for me! Any children

friendly oil out there?

Thanks,

Malinda

The Nordic line is flavored lemon... and my daughter asks for more! She

has taken since she was 2... I used a needle back then to open the

capsle and squirt it into her mouth... It isn't bad!
