Hi all,

Went in last Monday for my left knee replacement. Got discharged on Thurs, but

due to the snow, not home till Fri! anyway, my biggest problem in the hospital

was pain control. Once I got the nurse manager to talk to my doc, it got worked

out. I take morphine 2x a day at home, and they were not giving me adequate pain

meds. My doc told them what they were doing was like giving me water. So, in

addition to my ms-contin, I am also on a fentanyl patch, plus lortabs again. I

am quite loopy right now, but my pain is bearable.

What I am worried about is the physical therapy. I did it 2x day in the

hospital, and have home pt 3x week now for at least 4 week or until I can drive

myself to outpatient (which I won't be able to do on all these meds). I'm trying

to exercise the new knee correctly without throwing the rest of my body out of

whack. This week, I also needed to skip my MTX this week because I am getting

bronchitis again.

: Congrats on the new part...........wish you much luck with the rehab and

as little pain as possible. My mom had it done a couple years ago and is not

all that happy with it............it is in the future for me but I am only 55

and want to put it off as long as possible......having knee problems affects the

rest of your body because of the way you walk and the compensation.........

Anyway just wanted to say hello and glad you made it home

Gentle hugs

Good luck, ! Sounds like you've got some hard work in front of you, but

I'm sure it will be worth it.
