Got denied a raise because I was on short term disability!

I went to my boss yesterday to ask him for a raise because I have been

doing all the duties of 3 different positions. When I asked my boss

he said well...you have only been back for 5 weeks and before that you

were on short term disability for a while and I can't justify giving

you a raise to my boss. I have been there for over a year and a half

and we have been short staffed since. I am currently a computor

operator, a distribution specialist, and a manager. I returned from

short term disability after 2 and a half months and returned with a

release from my doctor stating I sould only work up to 8 hours a day,

but I am scheduled for 9 and haven't worked less than 46 hours a week

since. I am so upset. Any suggestions.
