All India Award for Idiots

I have got a letter from " All India Business & Community Foundation " saying

that I have been short listed for their Annual Seminar awards for

outstanding achievements in the field of Health services.

Now before all of you rush to send in your congratulations, let me clarify

that this is a scam. There is a legitimate organization going by that name.

However, what they do is send mass letters to any and everybody of all

fields. The catch is that to receive the awards, you have to send them a few

thousands of rupees towards expenses. This fee last year was around , Rs.

30,000.

Many gullible people do reply to them and send in their proforma. A seminar

is actually planned and all those who send the required money are given a

certificate and trophy praising their outstanding work. The person returns

back home with a warm glow and a shining cup to display in his office, and

the organizers at Rs. 30,000 per person collect a cool million or more

hassle free and completely legit.

I was going to throw the letter in trash. However, I feel that this should

be publicized well so that everyone becomes aware of the idiocy of this

scheme.

They do not have a website for obvious reasons.

Write to them saying that you have done something outstanding, like selling

the maximum frog's legs to China, or something more believable. You will be

rewarded with a quick letter asking you to attend their function in Delhi on

the 1st of March, albeit after paying the necessary moolah.
