Guest guest
What do the rest of you do when friends are oblivious to your efforts to avoid allergies? Not mean-spirited, just oddly, determinedly clueless. This keeps happening to me. We have friends who invite us over for, say, pizza and cake even though they know I'm allergic to wheat. This is partially my fault, as I have mentioned that I occasionally make an exception and just medicate myself that much more if I have to. I didn't mean I should have to do so at all social get-togethers. It's also awkward that everyone in my family and some of our friends keep cats, to which I am very allergic. It gets tiresome to keep pointing out why I don't want to come over. If you go to visit someone and notice a bunch of scented candles or vases of flowers, and realize they're going to be a problem, do you ask they be removed? Start overmedicating yourself? Find an excuse for just leaving? Anyone?
