Guest guest
Hi all, I went to the doctor today. I was pleasantly surprised by the new PA, very personable great bedside manners, and gave me a hug when she left the room. Oh my! I managed to talk them into giving me an injection of the MTX. The pain is way too much and just taking over plus even Tylenol has turned on my poor stomach. Didn't think that could happen. However, the news is still the liver enzymes are too high for them to continue with the MTX and elevated white blood cells because there is a persisting infection. Infection means no enbrel or humira. The PA called to tell me about my lab results they will test me again in 2 weeks. She is a keeper. Finally, quality healthcare from the assistant. The doctor is just way too busy and is a character. We fuss a lot, but he is very competent and will most likely stick with him, but look for PCP in a totally different practice to keep them in line and on top of things. However, infection is part of the reason I ended up in the hospital this last time. It looks like I will most likely continue to make do without anything for the pain or any DMARDs. Researching resurfacing instead of replacement for the hips. Doc is not for that idea but I am more willing to do that. However, nothing unntil a pain control therapy is in place and rid of the mystery infection. A dental appt tomorrow as well. So busy trying to stop the body from falling to pieces like Humpty Dumpty (smile). Best wishes. Please take care everyone. Talk to you soon.
