Guest guest Posted July 23, 2006 Report Share Posted July 23, 2006 If you buy a car or truck to transport a handicapped person and have to do any modifications, like removing a seat to make room for a chair or scooter or install a receiver hitch mount, you are exempt from Federal taxes on that purchase. That can be a big savings! And the work doesn't have to be done by a 'licensed' installer, you can do it yourself.
