Guest guest
There is a pain doctor here in jail with a good long sentence. They convicted him of drug trafficing. There is no way for us to know if he was or not, but it makes even the pain clinic doctors here wary. Betty His response was that most Dr's are afraid to presribe narcotic meds for you because you will be on them long term...and that you will probably take more pain meds than the usual JOE with a sore toe...which means a red flag will go up somewhere 'big brother' can see it, and they will be questioned
Guest guest
I read alot here and dont respond but.. I have fibro and OA, with chronic pain. My rheumy doesnt have the best bedside manner and it was like pulling teeth to get pain med out of him. The reason he gave me was that if you take pain med long term like that and then have to have surgery or something, they cant get your pain relieved... hhhmmmm... my response to that is-- let's worry about that when it happens.. So, finally, he prescribes me Vicodin. He has never discussed it with me just called me in some one day and they helped so they called me in some more. Now it is taking several of them every day to relieve me-- like 4 or 5.. I am afraid of what this might be doing to my liver. I called my PCP last week and got a referral to a neuro here that does pain management. He has severe RA so I really think he will understand. This week I had to get a refill on the Vicodin-- it took about 5 days to get this done between the pharmacy and the drs office. One telling me to call the other etc etc.. made me feel like a druggie.. I am unable to take any arthritis med right now because I have had gastric bypass and for some reason I am iron depleted and my hemoglobin is now dropping... Plus the copays are very high on those drugs. There are Rx assistance programs but not if you have insurance! And so far, I've had the colonoscopy--turned out all normal. Next is the EGD, if it is ok, then I have to have iron infusions. As prep for these tests you cant take any vits, iron, arthritis meds, blood thinners etc.. for like 5 days to a week before.. anyway, that's my story.... I will let you all know what the neurologist says.. My husband sees him for migraines and he keeps him fully Rx'd with meds he needs to keep the pain down-- or he tries anyway.. --------------------------------- Music Unlimited - Access over 1 million songs.Try it free.
