Guest guest
Great article except for one thing. The skin is permeable and all that goes on the skin goes in the bloodstream and therefore should be organic just like food. Great book about this is Judy Vance's Beauty to Die For. She was very, very ill from cosmetics (includes personal care items like deodorant, soap, shampoo, body lotions, etc). Products should be certified organic, not just organic which basically means that it contains carbon. According to the industry standards, petroleum products are organic too! Become a label reader! If you can't pronounce it don't use it is my general rule of thumb. Check www.ewg.org for a detailed listing of hundreds (thousands?) of personal care products and their safety. If anyone is interested I could post an article I wrote called Dying to Be Beautiful. I use only certified organic products and have really noticed an improvement in my skin since doing so. Guest guest
Thanks Sharon. I thought the difference between 'organic' and 'certified organic' was just a legal/government or formal difference. I thought that everything which said it was organic, WAS completely 'organic'. I thought that it having a ceritificate was just a formality and more for legal and government reasons then anything else. But it never occured to me that people whom say something was organic just for a scam or marketing purposes. I do read labels now for most things - - but some many products just don't seem to have labels, or at least not detailed ones. I would be interested in your article please! Thanks for the url!
