Guest guest
After finally been weaned to 1 mg Prednisone every other day, I have a knuckle flaring. Once, when that happened, I went to a day clinic to see if it was ok to go back on Pred after being weaned off it slowly. It was a long weekend and I had waited too long before trying to reach my rheumy. I am an accountant so the use of my fingers is really critical. The 'dr' that I saw said " Prednisone is pretty serious stuff for one digit! " . First I got very angry, because after all, it's my pain, not hers. Then I felt like maybe I was becoming a whiner. Anyway I went back on the Pred and the swelling, redness, and heat went away. A few months later; I saw my Rheumy and I wouldn't let him shake hands because once again that 'one digit' was inflamed. He immediately put me back on 15 mgs of Pred., saying " we have to get that inflammation down " . I told him about the other dr and he said 'obviously she doesn't understand the damage RA can do if it's not treated " . I love my rheumy, that day at least. LOL Now it's flaring again! Arghhhhh. I will put myself back on 3 mgs until I can reach my rheumy on Monday because once again, I waited too long before thinking that I should call him, and here it is the weekend again. I so wanted to be rid of that horrid/wonderful drug. At least my feet; knees and ankles are still 'quiet'. The Imuran/Plaquenil combo is working..... Guest guest
I have noticed my hands hurt now that I am weaning off the prednisone too. But it is also very cold out here right now too and I have not had my humira for a couple of weeks either because I have an aweful sinus infection.
