Guest guest
See that is sooo weird to me. You didn't have the side effects but also no relief from the Arava. I had the relief fromthe Arava but crazy wild side effects with it too. We are all so different on these meds -- drastically different it seems. Plaquenil was like taking an imaginary pill for me. It did nothing for me except blurred vision. Eyes are too important to risk with meds that aren't helping. Guest guest
What if all the RA doctors were issued sample packs of the more expensive meds so the patient could try it before putting a lot of cash or plastic on the counter? I went through this with Arava, had to wait until payday to fill the script and found I couldn't take them because of side effects. I took the rest of the bottle to the doc's office so he could give them to someone that can use them. I don't know what happened to them, but I suspect they were disposed of. Guest guest
With Arava, I did get the loading dose free from my rheumy. I also got an entire bottle of Bextra from him. ( I wish I had a few more bottles of that now.) So they do get samples of some meds to let their patients try. Maybe it would be impractical to get samples of the injectibles, since they have to be refrigerated. I do have a bottle of salsalate that my stomach didn't like. I think I have a few Arava and mtx pills left over, too.
