Guest guest
I am hoping this isn't a repost. I am catching up on my e-mail and not sure if this is something I posted already. Time for a break. I finally went in to see them and it was much more than the web site revealed. They had conversion vans for sale and other vehicles outfitted with ramps and swivel chairs, etc. I just wanted a steering wheel handle to steer better having RA in the shoulders, elbows, wrists, fingers everything used in steering a car among other things. Everyone in the store was in a wheelchair. The salesman asked me what type of condition I had. He said he didn't think arthritis was real until he got it in his neck. I am sure a lot of people don't think it's real. It shouldn't be called arthritis although I understand why it is. The equipment/modifications/gadgets, etc. were extremely pricey. A lot of scooters and fancy wheelchairs. Some I wish I had known about for my daughter. I suppose anyone with a spinal cord injury or nervous system disorder is definitely worse off than we are. At least we can hope for a treatment, they don't have treatments other than OT/PT. Nonetheless, RA pain is pretty bad and can be almost as crippling as a nervous system disorder in the long run without proper treatment or without prolonged relief. I was told they really didn't have anything for arthritis which was pretty obvious so the steering cover was the route I took. It isn't the steering control I was hoping for, but maybe I can feel a little more independent with the steering wheel cover which independence is my goal. Take care all. blessings and healing, Ebony
