Hi and welcome-

This is only a suggestion; my doctor had recently gotten these

findings. It might well help you! I hope so; you've sure had a

rougher time than a good many of us. This is a copy of a post I made

elsewhere; couldn't find the old one from this board... No reason at

all a doctor can't order this test be done for you.

-Research Report-

A pilot study by Enlander MD of New York showed that the

cardiac output and stroke volume of patients suffering from CFIDS/ME

was abnormal. Postural change caused marked reduction cardiac output

and stroke volume, from lying to sitting and standing. This partly

explained tilt table test abnormality. It was more definative than

the tilt table test in that it showed the change in heart function

with a change in posture.

Cardiac output is the volume of blood that the heart pumps out

of the left ventricle per minite on average 5-7 liters per minute

(equivalent of 5-7 quart bottles per minute) . The Stroke volume is

the amount each pulse or stoke of the ventricle pumps . The pulse is

the contraction of the ventricle per minute and is the most common

measure that a doctor or nurse takes when a patient is sick.

Therefore the stroke volume multiplied by the pulse will equal the

cardiac output per minute.

The tests were performed with an impedance cardiogram, a

relatively new device in assessing heart problems and cardiac

function. The tests are non invasive and can be performed relatively

quickly . The tests, as well as heath assessment, can be used in

disability cases in defining the disability of the patient. For

be experiencing difficulty in obtaining disability.

Hello my name is Michele,<<<<I am new to the group and I wanted to

introduce my self. I have<<<Fibromyalgia. I have suffered my whole

life but was not diagnoised till I was in my 30's. Back when I was

<growing up children do not have these kinds of illness's. But I had

<it and it was bad. Worse still because no<one beleaved they always

said I was being lazy or putting on. Espcially<when I just woke up

<and said Mom I am tired. Of course I would get you<can't be you just

<got out of bed. But there was a time that could <not be<ignored. I

<had severe headaches as a child so bad I was put in the<hospital and

<my dad was brought home from Vietnam for a week to be with

<<me. That everyone beleaves Michele has thoughs headaches still.

<<<And boy<<do I. But the rest lol I am putting on being lazy and a

<<hypercondreach<<<(sorry for spelling). But I am not even the Judges

<<with Dissabilty do<<not beleave me. I have fought for my dissabilty

<<for over 5 years. I have<<not got much Medical proof. And the

<<reason being no income no insurance<<no doctor. I was homless a

<<year and a half ago I finally got into a<<program for the homeless

<to get a place to live. And I now have a nice<one bedroom apartment

<all my own based on 20% income (thats for<rent,power and phone). But

<<I have no income so I pay nothing. SO some

<<<things look up while others seem to crash. But one look up for me
