There are some blood tests that can diagnose Lupus, or another other autoimmune system disease you might have. RA and Lupus have many of the same symtoms, but I don't know exactly which meds are used for Lupus as opposed to RA, they might even be some of the same ones. Lupus can be very well treated, and is not like FM, which I also have and which did not baffle my doctor at all lol, or I am just very lucky with my doctor, and you need to be tested for it, and early aggressive treatment, like in RA, can make a huge difference in the disease process. I would urge you to see a rheumatologist. Guest guest Posted April 25, 2006 Report Share Posted April 25, 2006 Bonnie, sorry you have been feeling so awful. My name is Holly and I am 26 with Lupus, RA, Fibro, and CFD. If you think you may have lupus run to your doctor and beg to be tested. Lupus can harm some pretty important organs. I was first diagnosed with RA and after a couple months on meds my rheumy wanted me to have a UA and a blood work up. My UA showed that my kidneys were in very bad health. After more tests It showed that my kidneys were going into failure and that I had Lupus as well. As for the abusive relationship, I am sooo sorry to hear that. Please keep in mind stress does triggers flares as well. Best wishes and keep us all updated. I have been to Rummys and they have said mt pain was from taking colesteral meds like lipitor which I have not taken any in months but still have so much pain all over. I went to another rummy and she said it could be fibro but there is nothing they can do for it. I was so depressed when I left her office. I have not been back to a rummy but I am getting worse and I feel so weak and tired and hurt so bad. Nothing helps not aleve nothing. Drs around here are not very good.
