Guest guest
Dr. Kolb: I'm sure as a PS you are aware of post-surgery effluvium (as well as implant effluvium), how do you help your patients deal with this? Is prednisone a good option? I no longer have faith in my dermatologist. I am looking for a surgeon who will do a mastopexy with local anesthesia with sedation to avoid further hair loss. What are your suggestions? Thank you. Pearl

Guest guest
Dear Pearl: I would have to consult my anesthelogist on this. There may be a chance that local with sedation would be likely to cause problems. . ----- Original Message ----- From: perlesetlacet@... Guest guest
Pearl: I just did a search for "Prednisone, hair loss " under . And I found many postings where prednisone caused increased hair loss. ----- Original Message ----- From: perlesetlacet@... Guest guest
Yes, . I had an ANA and every test under the sun. I've traveled and spent a pretty penny consulting with dermatologist on this issue. All of them told me the same thing: Avoid general anesthesia unless your life depends on it.
