Guest guest
Toni - I am soooo sorry that this has happened to you, after waiting and hoping that somebody could help you, the doctor tells you you don't have RA!, and she is retiring so you will never see her again. Humph. Seems that they should have let you know of that before this appointment, so you would not have had all of your hopes raised on this one doctor. So, you are not diagnosed with RA any longer? My initial doctor told me that it was not necessary to test for RA again after your first RA test comes back positive, and your complaints and symptoms match RA. I have never been tested again in all of my 7 years. I would be pretty upset if I was suddenly told that I did not have RA, and yet for all these years have taken toxic medications to treat a disease I did not have!! Maybe you are in a remission phase? So she gave you pain meds, but nothing else? Are you being treated still with your RA meds, or are you supposed to quit them cold turkey? This is quite a dilemma for you, and frustrating, and unbelieveable that the doctors sine 2002 have been wrong? I tend to believe that you have RA, but for some reason she feels you do not. I hope your lab work shows her to be wrong - not that I want you to have RA - but I certainly would not want you to have taken these meds for nothing! Not to mention what it does to your personal life - what do you tell your family? Oops, guess the docs were off? I would say wait until the labs come in and then go from there - hopefully they will get a new rheumy and quick, and you can get back to them to see about this strange turn of events. I will keep you in my prayers that find an answer soon. Take care - Kathe in CA ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ Need a quick answer? Guest guest
I had had remissions before. One as long as nine months. So who knows. I am on no meds. The prescriptions ran out a few months ago. I was just stretching my Lodine, Ultram and Darvocet to get to this appnt. So now all I have is Lodine. I did ask her that if she thought I did not have RA then what did she think it was. I was also told a few years back I had fibromyalgia. she told me she had no clue and to just wait to see what the labwork results say. The only concern is that this will totally mess up my LTD benefits as well as my SSDI application. This clinic is sooo hard to get into. You can basically forget it when you are sick and really in pain. I still have not found a primary doc yet. So I guess I need to find one. I was so disgusted when I finished with her that I forgot to ask her about getting a prescription to get my flu shot. So I guess it will have to wait until my next appnt either with her in 4 weeks or when I see my bariatric surgeon again in 2 weeks.
