Guest guest
Oh, I forgot to mention that my local MD had told me about this and told me there were quite a few reasons a person could lose their hair like this. Of course, I was anguished. At the time, he took a biopsy of the bald spot to try and determine if it was from medication or what. I guess there are different things to look for in the hair follicle, too. Anyways, he never could find if it was a medication or what. Of course, I knew it was the implants that did it, because my hair started coming out in handfuls after I got them. He finally agreed to me in private one day that he thought it probably was the implants. Then, the other time I lost all my hair, I had a different Dr. and he told me it was from the anesthesia. When I told yet a different Dr. about that experience, he said it probably wasn't from the anesthesia, but the shock of surgery and he said that any trauma or shock to the system can induce telogen effluvium. I never could get the same answer from any of them as to why I lost my hair. When I went on Prednisone, my hair grew back and pretty fast. The problem was...so did hair on my FACE! I was plucking constantly cuz these " horse " hairs were erupting! Now, I am off Prednisone and the hairs on my face are not coming back and I am just hoping and praying I don't go bald again! It is really hard to get any definate answers, or maybe I should say the SAME answers from all the Drs. It is very strange that would say she has never heard of such a thing. It is actually pretty common.
