Guest guest
I think this falls under " ...accept the things we cannot change.... " It's the nature of the illness. Trying harder not to overdo will improve the situation but for unforeseen and absolutely necessary exertions, expect to have to have a down time to recharge your batteries. Try to decide if these unexpected things can also be handled in a better way. Often we don't have to do what we've always thought we had to do. Boomerang Effect? Hi, everyone! Does anyone have suggestions for that boomerang effect that happens when I do too much then a few days later it comes back to haunt me with muscle pain, brainfog, fatigue, etc? I try very hard to keep a good balance with work and rest but sometimes the unexpected happens & I just can't. Thanks, P.J.
Guest guest
Oh PJ, I know the feeling, all too well. Some Dr. (Dr. Enlander I think, maybe?) suggests only doing 50% of what you think you CAN do. This is hard, but I have found it to be good advice. I still get the " unexpected " things that do come up, that just is gonna happen! But every morning when I get up, I make a small list of the things I'd like to accomplish for the day (unless I'm totally down, then I don't worry about it!) I look over my list at the end of the day, maybe I got some done, 1/2, or 1 thing done, sometimes, none. But that's ok, tomorrow is another chance. I do have the " benefit " of being unemployed now, so I know that it's easier said than done. But I know my bad days aren't quite as bad as they were. Hang in there, I wish I had a magic pill for ya!
