Guest guest
I hate to say it (because I hate having to take medicine too) but I'm taking Cymbalta for my fibro (I have RA too–lucky me) and it really seems to be working. I have much less pain and way more energy than I have in a long time. Take Care Babs
Guest guest
Hi No problem, I am glad to help. I currently take 60mg of Cymbalta. I think my rheumy started me off with half the dose for the 1st week. To tell you the truth I'm surprised it works so well as I am just coming off a major RA flare. Sure I have my aches and pains but lately I've been feeling great and I can't tell how long it's been since I said that. Guest guest
I don't want to overstep by asking, but could you tell me the dosage of this, and if you take it everyday or only when flaring? I was just diagnosed inapril with fibro so I'm just trying to figure out how to get some relief. Right now the only thing that I am taking for fibro is elavil so that I can sleep at night and a muscle relaxer. I would really appreciate any help that you could give me. I also have RA, OA, carpal tunnel in both wrists and a bulging disc that has tears in it in my lower back. I don't see a rheumy because they won't accept my ins. medicare, and medicaid. My pcp is treating me the best that she can, but she is not a rheumy. She does listen to everything I suggest and asks where I get my info, and I tell her about this group and she thinks it is great. Sorry that I don't post more, but I just don't feel like I can help anyone because I know next to nothing about allo of these diseases that have attacked me. I am 37 and I am terrified , because if I am in this bad of shape now, how bad will it be 10 yrs. from now. I do read all of the posts and I do pray for everyone. Thanks in advance, in KY Re: [ ] Hi all, new FMS patient I hate to say it (because I hate having to take medicine too) but I'm taking Cymbalta for my fibro (I have RA too–lucky me) and it really seems to be working. Guest guest
Hi: Welcome to the group! Actually, anti-depressants that are used in treatment of fibro are not used necessarily because you are depressed - they help to control pain from the fibro. I have heard that D-Ribose is very good for fibro sufferers, but it is a bit pricey for me, and is found in GNC or other vitamin type stores. You might want to try that - many have had good success with it in terms of pain reduction and energy increase.
